Since BID 2 commenced on 1st November 2008, we have developed a comprehensive marketing plan, introduced new signage and started to build links with the local community. In 2009 and 2010 we delivered a successful calendar of events during key trading periods.  These activities helped us to build on our fantastic relationship with our media partners and leveraged a huge amount of positive coverage across press and broadcast outlets.

After regular consultation with retailers, our marketing activity moved away from street animation and towards an advertising campaign which targeted residents from competitor cities who were unaware of our fantastic retail and leisure offer. 

However, in 2011 we continued to work with our partners including The Galleries and Cabot Circus to deliver several large events throughout the whole retail area. The Bristol Motor Show returned to the city centre shopping area for the third time in 2011 and the first very successful Garden Life Show took place.  We are committed to continuing with events such as these in order to animate the streets and increase visitor spend and dwell time.
