Bristol sets wheels in motion for fantastic motor show
Tuesday, 25th May 2010
Bristol’s city centre streets will be transformed into a unique ‘showroom’ from Friday 4 to Sunday 6 June, as the Bristol Motor Show brings some of the UK’s best known car dealers to the heart of the city for a fabulous weekend for all the family.
Broadmead, Cabot Circus and The Mall Bristol will once again join forces to showcase some of the newest and most desired car models on the market, following the success of last year’s first ever city centre motor show. The event will see Bristol’s central shopping area provide the stage for a free, three day spectacular that is sure to grab the imagination of motor enthusiasts across the city and further afield.
Bristol Motor Show 2010 is run in partnership with the Bristol Evening Post and brings together a wide selection of local car dealers. Nearly 70 cars from 12 dealers will be on display outside Bristol’s retail outlets, combining two great British passions – shopping and cars. As if that weren’t enough of a draw, visitors to The Mall Bristol will be thrilled to have a go at the giant scalectrix and meet The Stig’s look-a-like. Motoring website Motors.co.uk will also be delighting shoppers with the opportunity to have their photo taken with a Lewis Hamilton look-a-like on Saturday and Sunday of the event.
Jo Hawkins, Broadmead Manager, said: “We’re thrilled to be hosting Bristol Motor Show again this year. The event was extremely popular with motorists and their families last year and we look forward to welcoming even more people to Broadmead this year. It’s wonderful to be working with Cabot Circus and The Mall Bristol to maintain such a spectacular event for Bristol. Fantastic shopping and top quality cars all in one place – who could ask for more!”
Richard Belt, Cabot Circus Centre Director, added: “Last year’s event was a great success and we are delighted to be involved again. There will be a huge range of models on display this will provide the perfect opportunity to browse for a new car or indulge in a spot of retail therapy, with entertainment for all the family also on hand.”
Colin Lang, General Manager at The Mall Bristol said; “We are delighted to be once again playing host to the fantastic line-up of vehicles alongside our event partners, for what is one of the highlights of the summer calendar here in Bristol. Our superb range of stores and facilities make a visit to the Bristol Motor Show an exciting day out for all the family and we look forward to welcoming thousands of people over the course of the weekend.”
