BROADMEAD’S WORLD CUP SANCTUARY OFFERS A DAY OF INDULGENCE
Tuesday, 22nd June 2010
This Saturday (26 June) Bristol’s World Cup ‘widows’ will be able to escape the tournament and indulge in a football-free day of pampering and treats in Broadmead.
Shoppers will be treated to a series of free mini makeovers, head and shoulder massages and other relaxing treatments in a specially constructed ‘World Cup Sanctuary’ area – where football will be strictly off the agenda. Friendly and experienced staff from Boots and Debenhams will be on hand to offer shoppers tips on the hottest make up trends, how to show off your best features and what’s the best look for the summer.
Those with a passion for the latest nail fashions will also be in for a treat as staff from Debenhams and beauty centre, Fuss, will pamper passers by with one-on-one manicures and hand treatments. Once their hands and nails have been primped and polished to perfection, visitors can make sure their jewellery is looking just as flawless with a free ring cleaning service from the experts, Parsons Jewellers, who celebrated 300 years in the jewellery business this year.
There will also be a designated children’s zone so that mums can enjoy the goodies on offer whilst knowing their children are nearby and in safe hands. Toys and games store, Antics, will be wowing kids with their awesome aerial displays, all done with miniature and toy planes of course! If they’re lucky, some young visitors will get the chance to have a go themselves. For those who prefer toys of a cuddlier nature, the Build-a-Bear Workshop will be on hand to entertain children with furry friends and colouring in. There will also be the chance to enter a charity raffle to win an adorable bear donated by staff from Build-a-Bear Workshop.
Broadmead Manager Jo Hawkins said: “With the World Cup in full swing, talk of the tournament will be dominating the headlines, workplace, gym and for a lot of people, their homes. Our ‘World Cup Sanctuary’ will allow shoppers to get away from it all, enjoy a relaxing massage or get their nails done – the perfect recipe for a girl’s day out.”
Visitors will also be able to take their chances in a prize draw; with an exclusive goodie-bag featuring items from Broadmead’s leading health and beauty retailers on offer.
The World Cup Sanctuary event will take place from 11:00am to 5:00pm on Saturday, 26 June outside Marks & Spencer on Broadmead West. All treatments are free and no prior booking is required.
