BROADMEAD HAS EVERYTHING YOU NEED FOR A GREAT BRITISH DAY OUT
Wednesday, 21st July 2010
Whether you’re looking for a stormy pirate adventure, a fun day out at the seaside, or some medieval mayhem, Broadmead has everything you need for a fantastic British day out this summer.
Every Saturday from the 24 July, between 11am and 5pm, Broadmead will be treating shoppers to exciting themed events to celebrate everything great about a truly British day out.
‘Broadmead’s Great British Days Out’ kick off with the ‘Blooming Great Tea Party’ - hosted in partnership with Marie Curie Cancer Care. Families are invited to come on down to Broadmead, outside Marks and Spencer, and enjoy free giant games, face-painting and cakes courtesy of Sainsbury’s. You can also try your luck in Broadmead’s very own school sports day, where those with the steadiest hand, or quickest pace could strike gold in the egg and spoon race!
Jo Hawkins, Broadmead Manager, said: “We’re really excited about our summer events programme as it encapsulates everything that we have all enjoyed over the years in terms of exciting days out in Broadmead. The events also mean that people can do their shopping as well as enjoy themselves without having to travel far to get here.
“There will also be additional treats on offer and competitions to get involved in, so we encourage everyone to come down to Broadmead this summer to enjoy the fun.”
Other Great British Days Out, being hosted by Broadmead this summer, include ‘Pirate Adventures at Broadmead’ (31 July) in honour of Bristol’s longstanding maritime connections. Shoppers will be invited to indulge in all things timber shivering including pirate adventures, storytelling from the high seas and a giant pirate ship bouncy castle.
‘Broadmead’s Circus Extravaganza’ (7 August) will see Broadmead bring all the fun of the circus to Bristol, with circus performers and all-time favourites, the high wire and buzz striker entertaining the masses, while shoppers try their hand at exciting new skills in the circus skills workshop.
‘Oh I do like to be beside the seaside’ (21 August) will bring the seaside right to the heart of Bristol, where adults can relive their childhood memories, and the kids can enjoy some traditional beachfront entertainment, whilst the more daring try out the surf simulator.
For the grand finale Broadmead will be taking shoppers back in time with ‘Medieval mayhem’ (28 August) where they will be entertained by court jesters, as well as being transformed into knights and princesses for the day.
As part of Broadmead’s Great British Days Out, The Mall Bristol is also offering shoppers a free go in their Cash Cube to win anything from instant cash to free beauty treatments, retailer discount vouchers and even the grand prize! The Cash Cube will be on the ground floor of The Mall Bristol in Broadmead on each of the following Saturdays: 24 July, 31 July, 7 August, 21 August, 28 August 10.30am – 4.30pm.
