SET YOUR COURSE FOR A BROADMEAD PIRATE ADVENTURE

Tuesday, 27th July 2010

Thought to be the birthplace of the infamous Blackbeard, Bristol will once again play host to the scourge of the sea as Broadmead invites shoppers to indulge in all things timber shivering this Saturday 31 July.

Broadmead’s free Pirate Adventures take place between 11am and 5pm at The Podium outside BHS, where would-be buccaneers will enjoy dramatic storytelling of the high-seas, fun on a giant pirate ship bouncy castle, themed face-painting and a special children’s treasure trail to find six parrots hidden around Broadmead.

As if all of this wasn’t enough, Broadmead has delved into Britain’s murky past and identified five of history’s most notorious pirates. William Kidd, Edward ‘Blackbeard’ Teach, John ‘Calico Jack’ Rackham, Anne Bonny and Mary Read are said to have ruled the waves and as a special treat, the first 50 shoppers to visit Broadmead’s Pirate Adventures event and prove they share the same surname as one of these swash-buckling fiends will secure themselves a handful of pirate treasure!

Jo Hawkins, Broadmead Manager, said: “We hope customers will enjoy our free fun-filled pirate event this Saturday Kids will love becoming pirates for the day, while mum and dad can put their feet up and relax in our deckchairs or have a go on the fishing side stall.”

As part of Broadmead’s Pirate Adventure, The Mall Bristol is offering shoppers a free go in their Cash Cube to win anything from instant cash to free beauty treatments, retailer discount vouchers and even the grand prize! The Cash Cube will be on the ground floor of The Mall Bristol from 10.30am – 4.30pm.

To be eligible to claim the pirate treasure, shoppers must present their passport, drivers licence or birth certificate to show they share the same surname as one of Broadmead’s top five pirates.
