Monday, 16th August 2010
Marie Curie Cancer Care received over £600 thanks to a ‘Blooming Great Tea Party’ hosted by Broadmead as part of its ‘Great Days Out’ for shoppers this summer. Members of the charity, along with staff at Broadmead, oversaw this enjoyable event which took place in July.
Visitors to Broadmead’s ‘Blooming Great Tea Party’ enjoyed free giant games, storytelling and face-painting, as well as its very own school sports day, where those with the fastest pace and steadiest hand could strike gold at the egg and spoon race! The first 200 shoppers were also treated to cakes kindly donated by Sainsbury’s.
Jo Hawkins, Broadmead Manager, said: “Our ‘Blooming Great Tea Party’ received a fantastic response and was enjoyed by many families, adults and kids alike. The fact that we were also able to raise money for such a worthy charity was an added bonus.”
A member of Marie Curie Cancer Care’s fundraising team, said: “We are very grateful for Broadmead’s support and have enjoyed working with them on this successful event, which was only made possible thanks to their enthusiasm and commitment to our cause.”
