SEASIDE FUN AND FROLICS IN BROADMEAD
Monday, 16th August 2010
If you’re looking to enjoy the best of the seaside, but want to avoid hours in a packed car and bumper to bumper traffic, then look no further than Broadmead this Saturday (21 August), from 11am to 5pm. For one day only, shoppers will be given the chance to take part in some of the activities associated with the traditional British seaside, without any of the stress or inconvenience of a long journey.
All the activities will be free as part of Broadmead’s ‘Great British Days Out’, and those taking part could even win tickets to a special Butlins dance festival and £250 to spend at a store of their choice in Broadmead! Adults will especially enjoy reliving their childhood memories, letting their hair down and having a giggle with the seaside tableau, as they stop to pose and take photos of themselves as comical seaside characters. To add to the atmosphere, Victorian strongmen will be at the event challenging anyone brave enough to compare their muscles to prove just who’s the strongest. There will also be traditional beachfront fun for the kids, including the all-time favourite Punch and Judy show, while those not content just to sit and watch will get to ride the waves on a surf simulator machine.
Jo Hawkins, Broadmead Manager, said: “This will be the fourth event in our ‘Great British Days Out’ series and we’re hoping this is as well-received as the others have been. From traditional Victorian entertainment to a lively surf simulator, this has all the ingredients for an enjoyable day out for all the family. Those feeling lucky should definitely make it a point to drop by as we’ll be giving away tickets to the UK’s first ever street dance festival at Butlins in Minehead, as well as a £250 shopping voucher.”
In addition, The Mall Bristol is joining in the fun by offering shoppers the chance to win anything from instant cash and retailer vouchers to a grand prize donated by @Moss. Lucky shoppers could win any one of these prizes by grabbing as many tokens as they can in 30 seconds. All they have to do is to visit the Cash Cube which can be found on the ground floor from 10.30am – 4.30pm.
