GARMENT QUARTER NAMED BEST NEW BUSINESS OF THE YEAR
Wednesday, 21st December 2011
Garment Quarter has been awarded Best New Business of the Year,
sponsored by SuccessAppointments, at the Drapers Fashion Awards 2011.
The Oscars of the fashion industry, the winners of the 21st Drapers Awards were announced last night at Grosvenor House, London.
The sartorially stylish event, presented by Strictly Come Dancing’s Tess Daly, was attended by key industry figures and celebrities to celebrate and commend the very best in fashion.
Innovative Bristol fashion boutique Garment Quarter opened its doors for the first time in October 2010 and brings together luxury designers and one off pieces from the catwalk.
With the inspiration for its name stemming from New York's Garment District and the co-founders’ roots in Manchester’s Northern Quarter, Garment Quarter was born.
Garment Quarter is the brainchild of a group of young businessmen with strong backgrounds in high-end fashion. With their unique, refreshing outlook on retail, shoppers are welcomed into the abstract space with product displayed clearly in up-lifting stories and installations leading through each collection.
Forever evolving, the brand mix is constantly evaluated each season to ensure customers are provided with something new and relevant. By offering something different and choosing the more creative and directional pieces within collections, the Bristol shopper is given a true flavour of each brand, something only normally found in London.
Replicating the Bristol store’s shopping experience online, bespoke website GarmentQuarter.com was created in house, providing a personal and effective customer experience, from start to finish. Along with high quality imagery and product information, customers can shop online with ease using the best online security and payment options.
“The Drapers Fashion Awards recognised and celebrated a diverse mix of businesses from high street chains, to department stores to boutiques and brands. What they all share is a bold and brave attitude to selling fashion in today’s changing climate. All have recorded strong success in the last 12 months proving that they are leaders within the fashion sector and a role model for others.” Commented Caroline Nodder, Editor-in-chief of Drapers.
