COLOURFUL STREET BANDS TO LEAVE A TRAIL OF DELIGHT ON SATURDAY 16 JULY

Wednesday, 13th July 2011

Bristol’s venerable Ambling Band (27 years old and counting) is hosting a visit to the city by “Boutifanfare” – a 24 piece street band from Perpignan in the South of France.

On Saturday 16 July, the two bands will be leading a trail of delight through central Bristol.

Starting at Bristol Zoo at 9 in the morning, as part of their 75th birthday celebrations, the two bands will then perform at: St Mathews Churchyard, Kingsdown at 1pm; the St James Barton “Bear-pit” at 2.15; Broadmead West (the pedestrian area near M&S) at 3.15; then parading up to the Pride Festival in Castle Park for 4.15pm.

Catch them if you can – if you’re in the area, you won’t be able to miss the colourfully outfitted bands riffing to everything from “La Paloma” to “River Deep/Mountain High”!
