THINK PINK BRISTOL!

Friday, 22nd July 2011

Call it summer madness or crazy days but The Bristol Hippodrome is thinking PINK this summer, caught up in the excitement that is Legally Blonde and Dirty Dancing. If you’ve seen these musicals in London or our show leaflets and posters up and about, you’ll know what we mean, the theme for both shows is definitely PINK!

“Big shows attract big audiences and with 140,000 people expected into Bristol city centre and the theatre throughout the summer, we decided to think PINK and have started with the front of our theatre which you might have already noticed on an evening, lighting up the night sky. We then thought why stop with our theatre, perhaps local businesses, hotels and attractions might like to join in, so with the assistance of Destination Bristol, we’ve been busy chatting to them and are delighted that so many are coming on board”.

“Whilst shopping in the City Centre shopping area you’ll notice the benches, bollards and bins on Broadmead West have turned PINK, the striking frontage of Bristol Marriott Royal Hotel, College Green will be dramatically lit PINK at night, Piccolino in Cabot Circus and Java on Park Street will be making PINK themed cocktails for their diners and the Tourist Information Centre on the Harbour-side, The Grand by Thistle and NCP car parks are embracing the PINK theme and we would welcome many more to join in the fun” Christiaan de Villiers, General Manager, The Bristol Hippodrome.

“ It’s great to be able to work in partnership with The Bristol Hippodrome to promote Legally Blonde and Dirty Dancing. We welcome this creative approach which will add a splash of colour to the city centre shopping area while raising awareness of these great shows” Jo Hawkins, City Centre Retail Manager

However thinking PINK is for everyone, so if you decide to join in the fun we’d love to hear from you. Instead of a Dress Down Day at work, how-about a Dress PINK Day or decorate your workplace PINK, have a PINK bake off, dye your hair PINK or get your classmates to wear PINK on the last day of term. Let us know your PINK ideas via www.facebook.com/bristolhippodrome or www.twitter.com/bristolhipp and don’t forget your photos - we’ll give away tickets for Legally Blonde for the best PINK idea!
