THORNTONS BRINGS LIVE MECHANICAL CHOCOLATIER TO BRISTOL TO CELEBRATE ITS CENTENARY ON 13TH JULY
Saturday, 9th July 2011
Thorntons will be taking a live mechanical chocolatier to the streets of Britain to celebrate its Centenary year, and will be paying a visit to Bristol on Wednesday 13th July, all in the name of charity.
Britain’s best loved chocolate company turns 100 this year and has created this amazing live chocolatier statue (a real man!) which will be unveiled from 10am on Broadmead West. The Chocolatier will bring ‘street theatre’ to Bristol shoppers throughout the day and then travel to over 25 city and town centre locations across the UK during the coming months.
‘We’re so proud and excited to be celebrating 100 years of making delicious chocolate and we want to celebrate our centenary year with all the Thorntons’ lovers out there, as well as raise money for a fantastic cause,’ explains Peter Wright, Thorntons’ Marketing Director.
The live model of a Thorntons chocolatier will be showcased in a giant box, standing completely still until a passing chocoholic donates money to charity. The chocolatier will then begin mixing chocolate, entertain the crowds with his dance moves and give out chocolates – the more generous people are the more entertainment he will provide!
Every penny raised will go to the NSPCC. For more details visit www.thorntons.co.uk/centenary .
