BRISTOL'S BEST-KNOWN AFRO AND CURLY HAIR SALON RELOCATES

Thursday, 5th January 2012

Cococheno, leading afro and curly hair salon is relocating to a new and revamped venue in Nelson Street, Broadmead, Bristol.

Cococheno specialises in taming frizzy, curly or unruly hair and the success of the salon has prompted the owner and manager Leonie Northey to relocate to a more visible location in the heart of Bristol.

With clients coming from Bristol, Bath, the South West, London and as far-a-field as Ireland, Cococheno is now firmly on the Bristol map. The salon has earned a reputation as one of the country’s leading experts in afro and curly hair and originally opened in 2003.

Leonie says:

“We pride ourselves in giving and excellent service to everyone and earned a great reputation as specialists in curly hair. People with naturally frizzy or curly hair assume that they have to have their hair straightened to make it more manageable but there are many more options than just chemical straightening. It’s important firstly to use the right shampoos and conditioners. You shouldn’t over do it with hair products as that can lead to build up, but instead use a small amount of your chosen product to smooth out your hair. Although relaxers or chemical straighteners are still popular we have seen an increase in other techniques that condition the hair to make it more manageable like La Brasiliana. We also give advice to parents about caring for their child’s hair, if they have curly or frizzy hair.”

On 6th December Cococheno will be moving from their current premises at 50 Fairfax Street to new and revamped premises on 17 Nelson Street, making them a prominent feature of the Broadmead shopping centre in Bristol.
