Our BID 2

The main focus of Broadmead BID 2 is marketing and cleansing.

With BID 2 we are building on the very successful BID 1.  Now that the transformation of the streets is complete, BID 2 funding is helping us to promote Broadmead with a series of marketing campaigns and a calendar of events which will bring the streets of Broadmead alive!  Recently customers and retailers were delighted with our fun-filled, family-focused, Summer of Surprises which consisted of weekend events during the school holidays.  The streets of Broadmead were brought alive with street parties, competitons, street performers and bands in Broadmead and The Mall Bristol. 

Our marketing campaigns to date have been very positively received and supported by the media.  Broadmead has received extensive press and radio coverage and we will continue to promote Bristol's favourite shopping destination at every opportunity.

On top of this, BID 2 funding is providing the much-needed resources to improve standards of cleanliness to match the Cabot Circus experience. 

We are now constantly auditing environmental standards, ensuring that our cleansing activity matches the new benchmark that will be set by the neighbouring Cabot Circus development.Specific activities include:

- hourly sweeping of litter including cigarette ends
- washing of the streets and street furniture
- removal of tagging and graffiti
- removal of chewing gum
- prompt and efficient trade waste disposal- maintaining street furniture and paving

BID 2 will ensure that Broadmead is part of the beating heart of Bristol's new city centre.
