Broadmead joins in Colston Hall celebrations

Tuesday, 22nd September 2009

Street bands ‘The Ambling Band’ and ‘Zebaliz’ are set to delight shoppers in Broadmead as they perform party hits in their unique, foot-stomping style.

Both bands will be performing throughout the Broadmead streets on September 26th and 27th as part of the Colston Hall foyer opening celebrations which feature a range of Bristol artists.
Bristol-based The Ambling Band are bound to get feet tapping with their samba and rumba rhythms and they are joined by Zebaliz who are making their way from France to bring their party anthems to Broadmead.

Henry Shaftoe, drummer from The Ambling Band, said: “We’re very excited to be playing in Broadmead. It will be great to be able to perform in such a lively part of the city and as both bands are completely mobile we’ll be able to move around the pedestrianised areas to entertain as many shoppers as possible.”

The bands will be performing for approximately one hour from 2.30pm-3.30pm on Saturday 26th September and 3.00pm-4.00pm on Sunday 27th.

Jo Hawkins, Broadmead Project Manager, said: “We are always keen to showcase live music and these two bands will be a great addition to the Broadmead shopping experience. The Ambling Band have a fantastic reputation throughout the Bristol area and we are very excited to have them perform, and also to support the re-opening of Colston Hall.”

The Ambling Band performs everything from samba to pop and Zebaliz offer just as much variety- so head on down to Broadmead to join in the fun.
