Why not pay a visit to a few of Broadmead's hidden gems during your shopping trip? In the very heart of Broadmead you will find the John Wesley's Chapel, the oldest Methodist Chapel in the world (originally built in 1739) and the cradle of the early Methodist movement. It was built and used by John Wesley and the early Methodists as a meeting and preaching place and the centre for helping and educating the needy members of the community. This beautiful chapel is well worth a visit and attracts many visitors each year.

Broadmead Baptist Church known as 'The church above the shops' has conducted its ministry in the heart of Broadmead since 1640.  The church is well integrated into Broadmead life and seeks to minister to its congregation, those who work in Bristol and those who come into Broadmead to shop or for leisure.  Those who visit this building marvel at how big it is and that there really is a church above the shops!

 Castle Park is less than 50 metres away from Broadmead.  This large, landscaped, green space which leads down to the river, is the perfect place in which to enjoy a little time out from shopping.  It boasts a childrens' play area and you can catch the ferry here to enjoy a trip around the floating harbour with links to Temple Mead railway station and other key parts of the city as well as Brunel's famous ss Great Britain. 

Forget your bowling past, The Lanes Bowling Alley, at the edge of Broadmead, presents the fun of bowling in an upscale venue with a refreshing style.The Lanes has 5 swish bowling lanes, which can be hired by the hour and a cocktail bar made from vintage bowling lane wood and plenty of lounge areas to relax after your bowling. Lucky's Diner brings its take on classic American fare to Bristol. The Strike Burger was recently voted the 2nd Best Burger in London, so is not to be missed.
